It is time for another Mindful Monday! When times are tough or you feel that you have a lot on your plate, it can be hard to practice gratitude. Everything seems like it is going wrong and it is so much easier to choose to focus on the things that make you feel worse. However, whatever you focus on multiplies, so by choosing to think about things that deflate you rather than uplift you can have a negative, cumulative snowball effect. What would happen if you made the conscious decision to be grateful for even the smallest things? Today’s #SelfCareFeb is all about making the choice to be grateful in every situation. Unpleasant things can happen. It is just the way life is. However, you have the choice of how to react to what happens to you. If you choose to be grateful no matter what, you will attract more things to be grateful for into your life. It is a prime example of the Law of Attraction. Here are a few strategies of how to practice gratitude everyday in your life:
1. Write Down Five Things You are Grateful For: Make a habit to keep a log of things that you are grateful for. When times get tough, you can always take a look back at what you have written to help get your mind back into a state of gratefulness.
2. Say “Thank You.”: It is a simple gesture, but acknowledging your gratitude out loud not only makes you feel better, but it can also brighten someone else’s day!
3. Recognize the Process: Things tend to manifest in stages. If you have a really big dream or are praying for something, realize that there are multiple steps between where you are and where you want to be. There aren’t many shortcuts. Be grateful for the journey that you are on and enjoy the process. Trust that things will turn out the way that you want them to and stay in a state of gratitude to draw the best outcome to yourself.
