#MindfulMonday: Mid-Year Check In

Mindful Monday_ Mid-Year Check In

We are halfway through 2015! When I was a kid, the days always felt like they dragged on and on. I would go outside to play and staying outside for 3 hours would feel like I was outside for half a day. Now, it seems like I’ll look at the clock and then by the time I look at it again hours have elapsed when it has only felt like 5-10 minutes have gone by. Time is literally in fast forward mode. So much has happened over the past 4 weeks or so that I haven’t updated this blog (sorry not sorry). Continue reading

Mindful Monday: A Reality Check from a Six Year Old

Mindful Monday_ Reality Check

As I mentioned in a previous post, I recently took a trip to Washington D.C. to visit a friend. I have gone to D.C. at least half a dozen times, and for some reason I had never been able to go and see the White House. My friend and I happened to be a few blocks away from it, so we walked over to it. When we got up to the gates and we saw the White House, the first words that I muttered were, “That’s it? That is the White House?” For some reason, I wasn’t impressed with it. Continue reading

Mindful Monday: Pushing Through Fear

Epictetus Quote

Sometimes when I am afraid of something or overwhelmed with a lot of different choices, I tend to completely freeze up like a deer in headlights. Rather than taking any action at all, I retreat into myself and spend days trying to sort it out in my mind. This never produces a favorable outcome. Instead, I tend to think myself into an even bigger conundrum. This Mindful Monday, I challenge you to push through your fears and take action on at least one thing that has been weighing heavily on your mind. Continue reading

Mindful Monday: Thoughts on Abundance

Mindful Monday_ Thoughts on Abundance
Abundance is a tricky word. When you typically think of abundance, you associate it with finances and money. However, abundance can appear in many forms. For today’s Mindful Monday, we are focusing on how to recognize abundance when you see it and then learn how to accept it. As I’ve touched on before in other posts, the Law of Attraction is very real, and “like attracts like.” If you don’t accept abundance when it comes to you, the Universe will say, “Oh ok. You already have enough! No problem. We will send the abundance to someone else.” Be open to receiving and you’ll see more abundance flow your way. Here’s an example from my own life. It just happens to be a financial example, but I’ll give more examples of other ways of how abundance can show up at the end of the post. Continue reading

Mindful Monday: Taking Inspired Action

Inspired Action(1)

2015 so far has definitely been an upgrade from 2014! Last year was just a hot mess all around, and I experienced more changes over those 12 months than I ever had before in my life. In 2015, I have had a lot of exciting opportunities come up during January and February. These were the results of the efforts that I made to put more things into action and setting and reaching concrete goals. The results have been awesome. Continue reading

#SelfCareFeb Day 22: Practice Gratitude

#SelfCareFeb Day 22

It is time for another Mindful Monday! When times are tough or you feel that you have a lot on your plate, it can be hard to practice gratitude. Everything seems like it is going wrong and it is so much easier to choose to focus on the things that make you feel worse. However, whatever you focus on multiplies, so by choosing to think about things that deflate you rather than uplift you can have a negative, cumulative snowball effect. What would happen if you made the conscious decision to be grateful for even the smallest things? Today’s #SelfCareFeb is all about making the choice to be grateful in every situation. Continue reading
